In photography portfolio is one of the most
important things if you want to get hired. Photography is a visual art, so it
is obvious that the best way to represent your skills is by the use of
portfolio. The work that has to be included in it needs to be targeted at one
specific area of photography. My chosen career path is portraiture,
consequently my portfolio consists of selection of portraits. Due to the fact
that I am 2nd year student I am just trying to find myself, that is
why I included different kind of images – from fashion to art photography.
I not only created a physical portfolio,
but updated my website, which now has just my surname as a domain name and I
also created some business cards. In a professional world of photography in
these days these things are important to have. Nowadays, It is vital to have
your own website or other social media. Everything is moving into virtual world
as it can be accessed from every corner of the world. Furthermore, it is now easier
to find me if you just have my name. The first google page is filled just with
my images, website, LinkedIn and other photography and art websites.
Professional Frameworks 2 module made me
look at photography from more professional side. My personal development plan
made me realise how much there still needs to be done before I finish
university and start my professional career as a photographer. It also made me
think that it is possible to achieve quite a lot of things in a period of 6
months. Being professional photographer requires so much more than just taking
images, you also need to have ability to represent your work and yourself.
